This field of medicine focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used to conservatively treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, such as back pain, neck pain, headache, pain in the joints of the: arms, legs, and jaw. We practice a drug and surgery free approach to healthcare.
Chiropractors adjust the spine or in the extremities which in essence is “putting the bones back in place” and helping restore the normal curvature of the spine. The purpose of an adjustment is to restore joint mobility and range of motion to the joints of the spine, arms and legs. This helps the joints of the body move and function as they were intended. It also takes stress off the muscles, ligaments and most importantly the nervous system. When the nervous system is able to function properly the body is better able to understand its own injuries and diseases so that it can start the process of healing itself.
- Electrical Stimulation
Uses an electrical current to cause muscles to contract. Electrodes are placed on the skin over the problematic areas on the muscle, then a gentle electric current is turned on and it forces the muscles to contract. The effect of it is that it artificially tires the muscle in spasm, allowing it to relax, and it helps promote circulation of blood to bring in nutrients in and remove toxins.
This therapy is used to treat deeper structures such ligaments, tendons and fascia. Soundwaves are able to penetrate deeper than a standard heat and this helps to promote circulation, speed up the process of healing and decrease pain of those structures. It is used to provide deep heating to soft tissue in the body. Deep heating tendons, muscles or ligaments increases circulation to those tissues, which helps in the healing process. Increasing tissue temperature with ultrasound is also helps to relieve pain.
- Heat stimulation
We will use dry heat packs and place them over your spine and wrap them around your neck to warm up the muscles and increase circulation. We generally use this in combination with electric therapy to help it be more effective.
After an injury the body automatically inhibits the muscle to protect it and prevent further injury and on top of having the muscle fibers be overstretched or torn it causes them to become very weak. Physical rehabilitation helps to restore the strength in those muscle cells and it also stimulates the body to grow new healthy muscle cells and it is the most important therapy to help you recover from an injury.
A DOT exam is mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), ensuring that CDL drivers and are in good health to work safely. We administer these exams and write medical certificates that allow truck drivers to work.
We will conduct a general examination for heart, lungs, ears, nose eyes, spine etc. and to make sure you are healthy and well. If there are any concerns that need to be addressed with your health we will refer you out to the appropriate specialists and give our recommendations for you to manage your own conditions.
